EVANGELISM MINISTRIES

The word "Evangelism" comes from the Greek word eu-angelion. It is a compound word: eu means "good", and angelion means "news". So "Evangelism" ministries are those in which folks share and receive Good News. In the narratives about Jesus in the Christian New Testament, this is always Good News for the poor. Poverty takes many forms: Spiritual, Emotional, Economic, Intellectual, Material, etc. In every kind of poverty, however, we see the
ways the human family is broken.

So at Trinity UMC we believe that Relationship is the first step in sharing the Good News about God's love for the world. Our love for each other is what will make the Gospel about God's love believable.

Evangelism Begins With...FRIENDSHIP

FELLOWSHIP BREAKFAST

On the second Sunday of every month, we get together as a church family to have breakfast and enjoy each other's company. The wider community is always invited to come have a meal with us as we celebrate being together. This breakfast is part of the MPD "Cop Stop" outreach program.

WORSHIP

There are many forms of worship, both private and public. We believe that the experience of glorifying the God of Life and Love is transformative for all who participate. Intellectual agreement with the creeds of the Christian Tradition comes a long way second to the spiritual and emotional act of giving thanks and praise for life – for Being itself – and for the love that reconciles and unites the Creation.

MORNING PRAYER &
HOLY COMMUNION

A time of prayer and singing accompanies our Wednesday morning Service of Holy Communion, which is held in the Chapel in the Education Building at 10:00 a.m.

COMMUNICATIONS TEAM

Because we believe that sharing the Good News about Jesus Christ begins with a demonstration of his love, we consider every ministry and program that helps us build relationships with each other and the wider community a ministry of Evangelism.

Right now we are creating a Communications Team who will focus on keeping our congregation, neighborhoods, and wider community informed about our different events, programs, and ministries. Our hope is that, with effective communication, this congregation will gain opportunities to build relationships with every neighbor.
